It depends on the receiving institution. If the institution accepts translations with an electronic signature or scanned copies, the process is fully remote and we send an image-based PDF. Otherwise, the process can be managed remotely up to the signing and sealing stage, at which point you will need to send the originals.

No. When the service is provided to clients abroad and used exclusively outside Uruguay, it qualifies as an export of services and is exempt from VAT (Decree No. 220/998, Art. 34, para. 11). This exemption applies automatically — no additional paperwork is required from the client.
